WELCOME BACK TO SUNSHINE HILLS! Or for some of you…WELCOME TO SUNSHINE HILLS!

A huge hello to our Sunshine Hills community from us to you. We hope you’ve all had a fun and relaxing summer. Our school is sparkly clean awaiting the arrival of our students next week. The school is busy this week as staff gets ready to welcome your children. Staff was able to convene yesterday for a day of professional learning and planning. The new school year is less than a week away so the excitement is building.

As we approach school start up, your child/children may be feeling a multitude of emotions and we would ike to address that by outlining procedures for the first week back:

  • Students will be reporting to their last year’s teachers.
  • All returning students will report to their old classrooms by lining up outside the doors they lined up at last year. Please see information on our website which will be posted by the end of the week.
  • Please do not send school supplies on Tuesday. Students will need something to write on and a pen or pencil only. Teachers will advise students when to bring their supplies to school.
  • New class lists will be confirmed as soon as possible once we know our school population numbers as shifts/changes have taken place over the summer. The School Board Office will give us the green light to move into assigned classes.
  • All INTERNATIONAL students will report to the front office.
  • Kindergarten is GRADUAL ENTRY (families have previously been updated).
  • Please welcome Mme Mercier (Mme Brown), Mx Davison (Mme Tang), Mrs. Foulkes (Library), Mrs. Kuo and Mrs. Pavlou (counsellors) and Miss Krog (Learning Support).
  • Tuesday, September 3rd will be an early dismissal at 12:00 PM.
  • PLEASE NOTE the 8:55 AM warning bell and 3:00 PM dismissal have not changed this year.

Our Sunshine staff is looking forward to seeing many new and returning faces next week. It’s going to be another fantastic school year. We will continue to update families with information. See you soon.

Kind Regards,

Keri Hanlon, Principal

John Rodgers, Vice Principal
